MASTERS LEAGUE SA
The objective of the Masters League SA is to create a platform for masters athletes to showcase their training efforts and to show that they are athletes in their prime.
Master League SA started in 2022 as a wing of the Masters League Games held in Australia or New Zealand that have been running for a good couple of years now.
Last year event was hosted at Fitbox Durbell that is owned and run by Garth High. We had 34 athletes competing in age groups ranging from 35 to 55+.
This year the event was hosted at CrossFit Juggernaut based in Century City, Cape Town, owned by Justin Swart. We had a total of 80 entries this year and we introduced a 60+ category.
The event was a huge success with every single athlete giving their all this weekend. The workouts were not easy but this did not deter these masters as they braced the wind on Saturday and the heat on Sunday.
If anything, this weekend’s competition showcased that these masters are indeed athletes in their prime.
