TOMORROW THE SQUAD GAME START

One year after the first edition of the Squad GAMES the founders Warren and Jason WILLIAMS are ready to launch the 3rd edition by tommorow with the 2023 Trio event.
Teams of three (Male/Male/Female) will battle during 2 days at the Diggers Rugby Club in Randburg on the 6 workout cooked by Warren and Ruan Potgieter (2nd fittest in Africa). All that surrounded by bunch of 40 peoples on the staff team to ensure a smooth weekend.

As a good sign, more division are on line this year, RX, intermediates, beginners and Masters with an overall cash prize of 100k R. From 159 athletes in 2022 to 423 this year, the SG team show is willing to grow with some plane for the future, like individual categories, indoor venue to not depend of the weather and be part of the most prestigious event of the country.

If Competition is the fire of a sport, equipment is definitely the fuel and once again Rebel Fitness the semifinal equipment sponsor, stepped in to make it happen and continue is action to grow this sport in the country.

However some other majeur points make an throwdow a real challenge to run as mentioned by SG Team:
– Finding the good balance between entry cost and Sponsors/Vendors is critical to ensure sustainable event;
– Because our sport is different the ratio staf/athletes, place the volunteer at a strategic position to make it work. the staff is the face of the brand, build a synergy with them will impact the way the team will face the problems;
– Planning the event itself is real coordinator job doing difference between an amator and prenium throwdown.

To finish, SG TEAM build his identity around is specific programming, the focus on remain community driven and build up the sport for the good of all.
