PRETORIA THROWDOWN INTRODUCE THEMSELVES
WE ARE BACK – BIGGER AND BETTER THAN EVER BEFORE In
2023
IT IS WITH GREAT EXCITEMENT THAT WE WANT TO ANNOUNCE
THAT OUR FIRST IN-PERSON EVENT SINCE 2019 WILL BE
HAPPENING SOON.
The PTA Throwdown is a team event consisting of two individuals
[Male/Male or Female/Female]. We want to give each competitor a
world class fitness experience. Our competition is famous for being
one of the toughest ones out there.
The competition will take place over 2 days [3 & 4 February 2023]
at ADV – Leisure in Pretoria
THE PRETORIA THROWDOWN HAS ALWAYS BEEN AN EVENT
FOR THE COMMUNITY WHERE EVERYONE CAN SHARE OUR
COMMON LOVE, PASSION AND ENJOYMENT FOR FITNESS
WITH AN EVENT THAT IS SURE TO TEST EVERYONE ACROSS
DIVISIONS.
The ultimate fitness lies not in the perfect physique, not in the
perfect weight, not in the perfect form. It lies not in losing, nor does
it lie in winning. It lies in you!
Every minute spent, every drop of sweat and every representation
of breaking down to not only boundaries, but chasing down your
ultimate best.
Day in and day out, it is beating your ultimate best. Minute after
minute it’s about becoming your ultimate best every single time
you show up. It is not any athlete who can do this. Day in and day
out, there is not one modality of training that will prepare you for
this, nor are there enough hours of struggle to get you there. You
get one chance! This is what The PTA Throwdown wants to achieve – to bring out
the winner in each competitor. Not necessarily beating the person
next to you or winning the event but beating yourself. Beating your
insecurities. Beating your weaknesses and turning them into
strengths. Beating your ego and turning you into the best version
of yourself.
The First PTA Throwdown was in 2013, and CrossFit PBM has
hosted it yearly until the tragic Covid – 19 pandemic struck and we
were forced to host an online event.
WE ARE BACK – BIGGER AND BETTER THAN EVER BEFORE In
2023 – For the first time ever we will host the PTA Throwdown at an
indoor venue.
We have come a long way from 2013, from using our own gym
equipment as competition equipment, to now needing construction
vehicles to assemble the competition rig.
We hope to keep growing as an event and as a team to build the
best fitness experience in Africa.
